Slowly getting my feet grounded in California.  Working and building my bank account up.  I still have my web comic aspirations on the drawing board too.   This web comic will show my storytelling, coloring, and design.  So, web comic, plus more coloring.

Now to meet people in the field face-to-face and learn about getting my feet in the door here.

omg I did it with minutes to spare! Prism Comics holds an annual Queer Press Grant award to support upcoming LGBTQ artists/writers. Prism Comics is an awesome and consistent presence at comic conventions. The award this year is for $2000. 
This was my first grant proposal so I hope I did everything right! =) Chookahs, dahlings!

Also I'll be making a move all the way to California in October. Wish Priscillia, my van, and I bueno suerte as we trek far and wide to a new home.

It is confirmed.  I do have a spot in Etcetera's Jan 13th show at Gilbert's Cafe, Atlanta, GA.  I'm working on a new project to show there.  Please, make note of this date and show support!  More reminders will follow in January!!

So, starting every thursday, Gilbert's Cafe is showcasing artists work in a show called"Etcetera" hosted by Barry Brandon.  Look for me there.  I'll be making new work to show with some old candy. ;)

I taught teens at a recreation center on Ft. Bragg base, Fayetteville.  I showed them things in Anime and character design, did some character sketches, and another demo on coloring in photoshop. It was a challenge to keep their attention, but they were drooling over everything I did. =)

I got an internship with FEED magazine!  I've been there about two weeks now.  I'm loving the people, the work, and the opportunities.  Already I've finished an illustration for a full page ad.  It'll be in the next issue. Best thing is I'm there during a complete redesign of the magazine/website!  Through them I also got a commission to do a large portrait.  See you later...!

I met Jessica Wild at Club Feathers, NJ.  She was flawless, statuesque, and very cool.  I gave her my business card too.  It was so loud in the place I was still able to tell her I was an artist.  I think I could do some promotional art for her and her band.

My class and I got great reviews from DC Comics.  The editors and staff were warm and welcoming.  I met with Mike Carlin, Will Dennis, Pornsac Pichetshote, and finally, Jim Lee (via conference call)!  I feel better about the direction I want to go with my art...
